Pink petals catching their light

A line in W.S. Merwin's poem, The Furrow, inspired this post's title.

.....as the thin clouds
of that season slipped past gray branches on which the early
white petals were catching their light......

So lovely to see all the blossoms together on one page!

I love the cherry blossoms! The poem a day idea is great too - it's a shame it isn't year round.

Thank for your comments, Meighan and Arwen. This week, most of the cherry blossom trees are green with leaves and the sidewalk are pink with the blossoms, at least where the wind hasn't blown them away.

I agree with you about poetry, Arwen: it's an essential part of every day. It's really sweet when you find the perfect poem at the right moment.

Gorgeous.

Words, light, flowers...beautiful, Elaine. Balm for my rather tired eyes!

I'm so glad this post soothed your tired eyes. I have them, too, and a tired brain, as well, so I understand.
