The Gifts of Autumn: #1. Blue October

sea view

October's Bright Blue Weather

   O SUNS and skies and clouds of June,
        And flowers of June together,
    Ye cannot rival for one hour
        October's bright blue weather;

(first stanza from the poem by Helen Hunt Jackson)

Lovely colours! October's blue is still bright but less harsh than summer's isn't it?

We had been enjoying a bright blue October but it seems to have degenerated into grey today. I'm still quite enjoying it though.

Hello, Sophie. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more this past month: the brilliant blue skies or the turning of the leaves. But it's turned grey and soon will be wet. So lovely to have the memories evoked by photographs -- as well as proof that October CAN be sunny in Vancouver.

we have had very few blue skies this October, being very wet, almost too wet to get our garlic planted. We have two more days - I hope we have some of the soft blue skies - I'll look!!
