these not-as-fragile-as-they-look cherry blossoms:
'Shirofugen'
I was certain the weekend hail storm would have turned them to brown-tinged, pink mush. Thankfully, not.
Sigh. {The longing, wistful kind.} If only I could weather the storms of life so gracefully :-).

I love cherry blossoms!
Me, too. I really should have kept track of the number of minutes (perhaps hours) I've spent under the cherry tree branches this spring. After long hanami sessions, my neck is very sore from gazing up at the beautiful blossoms. Do you view the blossoms at the New York Botanical Gardens?
Hi Elaine
Hail storms are the worst. Hope your balcony survived. How's the growing season coming along? Warm enough to set out your tomatoes yet? - still a little too cool here for that. I've planted greens and peas outside and hope to get the rest of the seeds in the containers this weekend.

Hi, Kim. Yes, my balcony plants survived the hail. Oh, the growing season has been slow to start. Spring - what spring? But the forecast is for more sunshine & warmer temperatures as the week progresses so I have my fingers crossed that I"ll be able to set the tomatoes out.
Greens & peas - at least they perform well in cool weather. I'm looking forward to visiting your blog to see which varieties you've planted.
