Thank you, Sophie. Your recent damson and port jam recipe and related post inspired me to check out the old plum tree near my mom's home to see if I could salvage some fruit. And hurrah, last Monday, I picked over 5 lbs of low-hanging fruit. Today I pitted, halved and froze just over 3-and-a-half pounds to make jam later this week.

PS - So glad you love the "new" look. It's a new Squarespace template, "Canopy" & I couldn't resist trying it out -- a bit like getting new autumn clothes.

Hear, hear, to what Sophie said. The new look is beautiful. Soft, gentle and your photos really shine through.

And how exciting to have an unexpected plum harvest.

Thank you, Kathryn. It is exciting. I just wish I'd climbed a ladder to get the higher fruit. Someone else beat me to it. Ah well, I'm grateful for what I do have.

Little compares to fruit from a neglected tree. Enjoy those plums!

Thank you, gracia, for visiting my blog. I agree -- a bounty of fruit from a neglected tree is wonderful.

Sweet Lucy, thank you. Krystyn Heide, Squarespace designer, deserves the credit for the design. I really like the fonts -- Josefin Slab, Copse and Georgia -- and fresh, soft colour scheme.

Mmmmmm, raspberries. I was eating fresh (though a little sour) berries from the community garden plants up until last weekend but think I'll leave the rest for the birds.
