Happy New Year, Fellow Gardeners
I haven't picked my one word (yet) for 2011 and I don't know if I will -- or even should. But these are very good candidates: playful, resourceful, flexible, trustworthy, organized.
The squirrel is quick to solve puzzles, reserve essential energy while planning its food supply and balance its actions with emphasis on rest while being still. The squirrel always has time to play, often during work hours. Overall balance between work, play, gathering and planning is achieved while trusting everything will work out.
from the description on my 2011 INK+WIT letterpress calendar
Yes, I would do well to be more squirrel-like about gardening, if not life in general. How about you? Do you have a word to inspire or guide you in 2011?

PS,
I'm happy to share some new year's good news with you: Green & Berries placed third in the 2010 Canadian Weblog Awards' Gardening category. The recipients of the first and second place awards have informative, inspiring, lovely-to-look-at blogs so be sure to visit them, too.
I wholeheartedly echo the balcony gardener's gracious words in her One of Many post:
There are lots of great gardeners in Canada who .... showcase the diversity of not only gardening across the country, but writing about and publishing photo journals to illustrate the experience. I’ve learned something from each of them and am happy to be part of the Canadian gardening gab.
