I sit with the rocks,
still, silent, permeable,
the streams flow through me.

What a lovely image Elaine, it looks like the rocks have been arranged? It's such a peaceful setting I can quite see why you sat silently. I love your image of "the streams flow through me".
Thank you, Kathryn. Yes, the rocks were arranged by ???? - now that's a lovely mystery that could be another small stone.
I confess I revised my words countless times. I tried to fit in ducks, crows, seagulls, boats and sunlight. Too much! At the end, I let the remaining thoughts arrange themselves into a haiku.
Perhaps I really do need to take that last line deep into my heart when I write.
As usual, your comments open my eyes to messages & lessons I've overlooked. Thank you.
So interesting that you wanted to add in more and expand the subject matter, because for me it's the utter simplicity and sparseness (is that even a word?) that I admire and love in what you've written.
Though abundance is good in the garden, I agree, in writing, sparse and simple are best -- at least for my prose or poetry. Your feedback means a lot to me. Thank you for your support with these small stones.
