Heirloom tomatoes in October

A perfect recipe for the final harvest of heirloom tomatoes from the summer garden: Vegetarian-Lentil Paella.

I'd like to tell you I grew these gorgeous tomatoes on my balcony but only the cherry tomatoes ('Sungold' and 'Supersweet') are from my garden. All the others came from my brother's garden in the Okanagan.

I love sharing vegetables! You've got a great variety of tomatoes that way.

Hi Arwen. Yes, sharing is good. I think gardeners should have tomato exchanges just like bakers have cookie exchanges during the Holiday Season.

Thanks for visiting, K. I wish I could have given you some of the cherry tomatoes from _your_ plant. Ah well, I enjoyed them for you.

Beautiful photo! I got some of these from the farmers' market and they were tastier than the average tomatoes. Hard to convince the kids though - they like to stick with what they know.
