Thank you, Sophie. Yes, the simplicity of this sculpture/carving appeals to me, too. I walked by it again last evening but could not find any description. I also searched the directory of Vancouver's public art and couldn't find a listing. I'm still searching, though, as I'd like to know who the artist is.

Yes, I'm always surprised that even on the greyest, chilliest, heaviest days, simple joys emerge.
