Happy, Healthy New Year

Winter coleslaw: this recipe includes cabbage, carrots, sweet bell peppers, celery & white turnip. This small bowl contains about one-and-half servings toward the "at least 5 a day" of fruits & vegetables.

Happy New Year, everyone.

I hadn't prepared a New Year's Day post, and a good thing, too, because I could never do better than Sophie's latest,

How to make healthy eating incredibly simple this year

So set aside any long or complicated list of resolutions you've made and go read it now. The principle Sophie describes is simple, powerful and 'makes the most difference.'

Thank you so much Elaine ( I think I surprised even myself with such thoughtfulness so early in the New Year ).

Isn't that fantastic, 1 and a half servings in such a small bowl? Maybe eating well isn't so difficult after all, and as you have so beautifully demonstrated it needn't be boring either.

You really did write a marvelous New Year's Day post. Like Kathryn, I'll be pointing it out to my clients and patients as well as the dietetic interns.

I'm not at all surprised by your thoughtfulness :-). I'm looking forward to the other nutrition tidbits you'll be sharing with us 2011.
